In today’s economy, every sector of society—-businesses, nonprofits, government agencies and communities— as well as individuals, are struggling to survive. Everyday the news demonstrates that our current “modus operandi” is not sustainable; challenging us to develop new approaches. This can seem like a daunting task but it can also be an excellent opportunity for innovation.
It is clear that the only way that we can successfully address these complex issues is by ensuring that there is broader participation in analyzing the problems and implementing the solutions that will benefit all people not just a few. Thus, it is vital that organizations learn how to work across sectors (government, nonprofit, business), harnessing each actor’s strengths to produce the greatest results.
